Hymenoplasty is a procedure typically performed under local anesthesia, lasting about 30 minutes. There are two different methods for this surgery: Temporary Hymenoplasty and Permanent Hymenoplasty. The method to be used is determined according to the individual’s preference. The details of each method are as follows:

1. Temporary Hymenoplasty:

In this method, the hymen is not actually reconstructed. Instead, fine threads are stitched at the entrance of the vagina, simulating a hymen. During intercourse, these threads break, causing bleeding. However, it should be noted that these threads are not very durable, so the procedure should be done at least one week before intercourse.

2. Permanent Hymenoplasty:

This method is a more long-lasting and natural solution. The hymen is reconstructed using tissue taken from the inside of the vagina. Unlike the temporary method, bleeding will occur during the first intercourse after the permanent hymenoplasty, regardless of when it takes place.

Recovery After Hymenoplasty:

After the surgery, it is important to follow the doctor’s instructions carefully. There may be some sensitivity or discomfort in the first few days, but if the instructions are followed, recovery will occur quickly.
